Investor from Long Island, NY, currently long-distance investing in North and South Carolina. After having spent countless hours reading, listening to podcasts and attending REIA meetings over a span of 3+ years, I finally honed in on a target market and dove in to buy my first two single family investments in April 2019. My third followed in July of the same year. Number four closed in early September 2020. I had been holding out in hopes of purchasing something bigger this year but finally caved and purchased another SFR, not wanting to let 2020 come and go with no new RE acquisitions. All properties have been purchased distressed and renovated with cash, with the intention of eventually executing the BRRRR strategy. Most likely with a portfolio loan at this point. The first three have been cash-flowing very well since late 2019, with renovation on the fourth recently completed in hopes of finding a tenant before the end of 2020. My near-term goal is to scale my investments more quickly via the acquisition of one or more multi-family properties and also possibly expand into additional markets throughout the Midwest and Southeast United States. I'm also very interested in the burgeoning short-term rental market as well as the self-storage space. Longer-term, I aim to achieve financial independence before my 50th birthday and begin to travel more often while spending less time working at the business that I have owned and operated since 1995. My greatest motivation comes from the desire to guide my young sons to a life of financial independence and success early in their lives.
