Hello Bigger Pockets. I'm a fiscal officer at a department at a university in Massachusetts. I'm looking for stable cash flow and long term appreciation to build up a secondary stream of income. My strategy is more for scooping up value plays in Minneapolis (cheaper market than Massachusetts). I first got into real estate when I bought my primary residence in 2008, where I was able to use various programs to buy my condo (soft second mortgage program and the $7,500 federal loan program that the government offered to stimulate primary residence purchases). Experience: My real estate experience is twofold. I own a primary residence in Massachusetts (condo) where I've lived since 2008 and I'm a trustee on the condo board. Since August of 2016, I've purchased the following: -An investment condo in Uptown/Lake Calhoun area in South Minneapolis (8/16) - Exited in June of 2019. -A duplex in the West Seventh neighborhood (March, 2017) - currently fully rented. -Another duplex in West Seventh (June, 2017) which has been renovated (fairly substantial renovation) and is currently fully rented as of the end of September. - Another duplex in the Philips neighborhood of Minneapolis (June, 2018) - currently fully rented. Real Estate Goals: My goals are to continue purchasing real estate to the tune of 2-3 properties a year. My goal is to amass a nice little portfolio to have stable returns, as a second stream of income to my W2 position. Currently Seeking: I'm currently seeking deals in West Seventh neighborhood of Saint Paul, ideally small MFR's (duplexes, triplexes or quadplexes). Since the market in the Twin Cities is fairly competitive, I'm also open to being a private money lender for the right deal either in Minnesota or Massachusetts.
