I worked in construction for 18 years as a Granite Mason, working on new houses and condos in the Toronto area. Following the advise of some of my older coworkers I started to buy old run down houses and renovate them into legal duplexes. I worked on the houses in the evenings and weekends, and was able to quit my day job after 2 years to focus on investing full time. Over the last 6 years I have bought and converted 12 houses into legal duplexes and am continuously looking to add to my portfolio. In 2018 I took a break from investing, and with my new found freedom, I decided to join the Canadian Forces, and spent the last 3 years training and learning to be a Combat Engineer with a recent 6 month deployment on Op Laser. It has been the toughest, yet most rewarding experience I've ever had. Chimo. This year I would like to meet some other investors in Ontario and move into multifamily investing with a goal of 20 apts.
