How I got started in Real Estate I bought my first investment property in 1986. I wanted to have tenants and make monthly income as well as have some assets. Since I was 30 years old I figured I should own something. So I worked with a few Realtors, bought a few multi-families then single families. Soon I got into buying and negotiating short sales. The market was soo good. Becoming an Author I even wrote a couple books on how to do short sales from an investor view point. I taught students how to buy and sell short sales too. It was very rewarding, helping homeowners get out from a bad debt and save their credit from foreclosure. Then 2008 happened. Ugh! Short sales changed, the banks changed, my rentals weren't worth as much as I had hoped they would be for a great retirement. I needed another income. Something that fit into the real estate world because that is what and who I knew. Investors, realtors, contractors, buying, selling and fixing houses. He/we got into it because we had bought a house in 1997 that had a cat locked in the house for three months before closing. The owner left a bag of dog food and water in the toilet for the cat, closed the door, then left. At least he did leave him food. The next product we bought to get rid of the odor did get rid of the entire odor. We sprayed it even in the brick fireplace where the cat started to hide. After that, we got a tenant in quickly who paid full rent, because the place was clean, rehabbed and smelled great!
