Bought my first home 17 years ago, and almost lost money when we sold it. Complicated story. Just bought a home with my son and share expenses. I believe the property can become income producing when I am ready to purchase an investment property and we rent out my lower level apartment. I have a full time career but I want to develop residual income through real estate. UPDATE: The mother in law suite has been a successful airbnb for about 2 years. I have bought 3 properties, did a rehab on one and sold it for a small profit. It is time to get serious and make this dream a reality.
