Diversification means to be invested in non-correlated assets. The realest assets we have are the real estate properties we own/will acquire. Bought ($125k) and rehabbed a foreclosure in 2011 in Oakland, CA, sold it a few years later for $515k. Moved to Tennessee, bought a house/land with cash, rehabbed that, then sought and bought our first rental in Knoxville. Rehabbed that and learned a lot in the process. Now continuing the journey, looking for other properties to add value to and rent-out. Especially interested in leaning into an office building and multi-families now, absorbing everything we can from Bigger Pockets (books, podcasts, the pro-calculators, forums, videos, members, etc.)
