Derek Vander Veen

I began my real estate investing career by purchasing a single-family home in Kansas City, MO for my wife and I with the intent of fixing it up and renting it out. A year later we moved and had our first rental property to manage. Since then our goal has been to acquire one property per year, and have done so over the past six years. We have six properties between Kansas City, MO and Des Moines, IA, and are looking to begin scaling at a faster pace. I currently focus most of my time performing the rehabs, property management, bookkeeping, etc, but am looking to focus on developing systems to allow myself to work on the business rather than in the business.
