Dan Milinazzo

I have been interested in real estate investing for as long as I can remember, but actively seeking out knowledge on the subject for the past 10 years. My background ranges from Construction, Design, and Architectural Engineering. I have a very analytical mindset and love to excerise the mental muscle on numbers and details. No matter what comes along I always find myself coming back to REI and places like BiggerPockets and look forward to continuing my development in this exciting field. At the time of writing this I currently hold about 18 units between Lowell, Fitchburg, and Pepperell, MA and in the process of developing a 12 unit ground up in Manchester, NH. I bought my first investment property about 15+ years ago through a shortsale and still hold it today. I grew up in the construction side of the equation working alongside my father in his roofing business as soon as I was old enough to pick up shingles on weekends and after school. I developed an interest in design and after an introduction to drafting in High School I pursued an Architectural Engineering degree at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. During my time in college I used my semester breaks for construction work, worked in an architecture office and then a building envelope consulting & engineering firm where I stayed for about 5 years after graduating college eventually becoming a partner in the business and getting very close to branching the business into rehabbing. I also worked on the GC side of the business as a Senior Manager estimating and bidding, performing profit forecasting and modeling, and ultimately overseeing teams performing roofing, siding, window, and deck replacement work on condominium properties. Currently I am an owner's rep and Senior Director of Construction for capital construction with a national apartment management company/REIT. In this role I specify materials, develop scopes of work, generate details, solicit bids, qualify contractors, oversee production, and process payments over numerous properties and projects from Nashua, NH to Bridgewater, MA. So I have worn the designer/engineer hat, contractor hat, owner hat, and investor hat over my career and have come to realize 1 thing to be certain. I have a passion for the business.
