I'm a hard working individual with broad experience in finance, business management, and strategy. I'm currently a Director of Finance at a $100B company. I'm a licensed CPA but was quickly bored with the field of accounting. I love my accounting background for purposes of tax strategy. I'm a devoted husband, and father. I'm rapidly acquiring investment property to achieve financial independence so that I can devote more time to them. I prefer to manage my destiny and would like to spend more time with my family and less time at work. I own two single-family residences in San Diego, CA that have done great in terms of appreciation but are lacking in cash flow potential. I have been growing my real estate portfolio outside of California, and currently have 32 units in great areas in St Louis, Missouri. I hope to have 76 units within 5 years. Why 76 units? Because I want to maximize the utility of those wonderful Freddie Mac 30 year amortization loans. 1 primary residence and 9 four fams for me, and 10 four fams under my wife's name. No balloon payments or refinancing in my future! The tides of interest rates change, your cash cow can quickly become a money pit. I'm an amateur note investor as the lender on two properties from my self directed IRA (each with 60% equity). I plan to use the monthly note income to automatically invest in low-cost index funds. Dollar cost averaging at its finest! Essentially, I have someone else creating a really great retirement account in addition to my work account.
