I started out in the commercial real estate industry in 2003 and have worked in many roles within the field. My career began with me working as a retail and development associate where I learned much about the development business. I eventually moved over to the brokerage side where I represented buyers and sellers of office buildings as well as tenants and landlords in the office, retail and industrial space. I found that I wanted to gain a deeper knowledge of development so I decided to go back to school to earn a Master's degree in Real Estate Development. During the program I began consulting for developers of medical office and office buildings, building owners, and project managers. Not long after graduation I decided to go to work for a merchant developer as a project manager where I managed the ground up development and renovation of 15,000 SF grocery markets. Then the global financial crisis hit and I found myself scrambling to find work. I did land a position in the public sector where my signature project was managing the tenant side of the building construction and tenant improvements for an 11 story Class A office building. My two sons then having left the nest I moved to a different state for a position change and began working on a portfolio of leases, analyzing various aspects of our internal processes and procedures in a variety of areas within our extensive portfolio. Eventually I moved on and joined forces as an advisor for a startup advising on the real estate side of the business. I thoroughly enjoyed the startup culture and completely immersed myself in it. While advising I began working as a leasing manager for a world renowned and respected medical center and network. After a time I was recruited away to become the senior real estate executive and global real estate strategist for a multinational, multi-billion dollar design and architecture firm. However, I found myself longing to run my own company and forayed into residential real estate as a house flipper. At the same time I started a commercial real estate team at a primarily investor centric residential brokerage company. Not long thereafter I co-founded a construction services firm that has been growing rapidly allowing us to expand into several states on both the West and East Coasts. During my 17+ year career in real estate I have gained a number of certifications and licenses some of which are a Washington State Brokers License, a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation from the CCIM Institute, a Masters of Real Estate Development (MRED) Degree from Arizona State University and a Certificate in Project Management from U.C. Berkeley. I am also a licensed, insured and bonded general contractor. My career has taken me from the Southwest all the way up the West Coast to the Seattle Metro Area where I currently reside.
