Eric Burns

Eric Burns is the owner and operator of Flowers Capital – a Cincinnati-based commercial real estate firm. Eric was born and raised in Cincinnati and still resides there. Eric first attended Wyoming High School in the Cincinnati area and later enrolled in Miami University in Oxford, OH, where he graduated with a degree in Finance. Shortly after graduation, Eric made his first pivot and started a 17 year career with the Cincinnati Fire Department, and proudly retired as a Lieutenant. His solid education has served him well and he remains constantly grateful. As a lifelong learner, Eric has been proud to participate in Mastermind groups which have provided constant growth in his real estate investing career. Like many, Eric started his investment career in the residential space and expanded into the commercial arena. His first property was a student housing rental in 2016, but later expanded into renovations - renovating duplexes and refinancing into long term debt to sustain a buy and hold model. He relies heavily on his early experience, utilizing the skillsets that have been acquired. The residential space lent itself well to acquiring the skills necessary to excel in the commercial real estate industry. Through managing renovations, and often sweat equity, Eric has become exceedingly proficient at estimating renovation costs. Eric’s strengths also include, evaluating market conditions and setting proforma performance expectations. Flowers Capital reflects Eric’s fundamental philosophies of sourcing and funding deals. Priorities include, firstly, preservation and growth of investor capital. As a strong proponent of multiple passive income streams and protecting the commodity of time, he believes financial freedom is achievable through real estate investment and Flowers Capital is fully intent on achieving those goals for its investors. Eric is intentional about developing and building strategic partnerships as well, as he often uses his network and allies in funding and closing deals and operating successful projects. Flowers Capital values its strong partnerships and believes in success through collaboration. Real estate investing is truly a labor of love for Eric, but he also thoroughly enjoys fly fishing, traveling and his Labrador Retriever.
