I am not a Real Estate agent - I am a full-time investor, but it wasn’t until May 2013 when it all started. I was born in Russia where I finished medical school and became an MD. Moving to the US in 2003, I decided I didn't want to continue medicine and decided to learn programming. In 2008, I graduated from University of Washington with Bachelor's in Computer Engineering and joined my dream company, Microsoft, as a software developer. I was happily working there when, in May 2013, Microsoft stock hit $32 (yeah, looking back now, I think I should've waited for a higher price) and I sold all my stocks. I realized that I had to invest the money that ended up in the bank and earned close to nothing there. I did extensive research trying to figure out what I should to invest in and realized that Real Estate is an answer for me. Learning more and more about it, I understood that I wanted to be an active investor and do it on the big scale. I started attending all kinds of seminars, workshops and trainings. Very soon, I met my business partner and my awesome boyfriend :) - with whom we started a Real Estate Investment Company, Sound Housing. Our company started growing very fast doing more and more projects. Having been in such situation myself (having money in the bank and not knowing how to invest them), we make it our company goal not just make money for us, but help other people as well, to invest using Real Estate as a tool. Now we have a circle of investors who invest with us and this circle keeps growing. I find myself spending majority of my time in front of multiple computer screens and on the phone - my interest is to grow the company, not spend time overlooking projects - which for most investors becomes full-time job. It was our goal from get-go to streamline the company by bringing in the right people to our team so we could focus on building the business. I am looking forward to making Bigger Pockets a resource for us, as well as sharing my knowledge on many subjects of Real Estate field.
