I entered the real estate investing world in 2006 after watching yet another episode of someone bungling their way through a rehab and still making a ridiculous profit. REI appealed to my entrepreneurial desires and 'flipping' houses seemed like the way to go. There were MANY lessons learned those first few years. Chief among them was that this is a business and you have to know WHY you are doing it. I have 2 special needs children. I don't know what the future brings for either of them, but I do know that I can use real estate to provide for them in a way that I couldn't at a corporate job. When things get tough, this is the primary Why I focus on to keep going. Along the way, I have had tremendous support from business partners, friends, family and mentors. They have helped me down the path towards achieving true financial freedom. In turn, I have found great joy in helping both active and passive investors achieve their goals. This is the second reason I do what I do. Whether it's as an agent, mentor, turnkey provider or entrepreneur, I truly enjoy the work I do. My only regret is not overcoming the fear of leaving my corporate job sooner.
