I was born and (mostly) raised in Michigan, specifically the Detroit area. I have a husband and two grown children. I've wanted to get into real estate for at least twenty years but things kept getting in the way. Now that my situation is different, namely that my schedule is predominately mine to do with what I choose, the itch is back. I've never, ever, not been able to do something if I decide to do it. I hope that still holds true. Experience: Our first home was a fixer-upper, and we learned a lot of hard lessons in the decade that we were there. Both financially and in terms of construction and design. Going into our second home, we used those lessons to our benefit, and learned a few more. I designed our basement living areas with just a tape measure and a pencil and paper, adding a second full bath, a third bedroom, and a family room. I sourced most of the materials myself, supervised construction (in other words, micro-managed), and did my fair share of the finish work. I designed and built the patio as well. I'm not afraid of hard work. And I love learning new things. Real Estate Goals: I'm not interested in being rich. I want to help build our savings and pay down the little debt we have left, and then continue to bring in an income each month to lighten the load on my husband. Currently Seeking: I'm looking forward to learning everything I need to know to successfully invest in real estate. I cannot afford stupid mistakes, so I don't intend to make any simply because I didn't educate myself. Ignorance is not bliss.
