My dad handed me Rich Dad Poor Dad back in college, and that pretty much messed up my plans to work a job the rest of my life. I have a background in insurance sales along with 8 years of apartment building property management. My focus with real estate is to complete a house hack in 2019 and continue to buy and hold additional multi-family properties. I grew up in central Iowa. My wife and I have been in Minnesota for over 10 years now and we have 2 young boys. I currently am self-employed with Shipt (grocery delivery). My first house hack was done while I managed an apartment complex and lived on site in the penthouse. I got the unit at a discounted rate of about $900 per month. It was a 3 bedroom 3 bath, so i rented out two rooms each at $500 per month plus utilities. In the end, I was living for free with the $1000 per month covering the rent amount along with my portion of the utilities.
