I am from a small rural community and have been in rentals for about 20 years. Have had over40 rentals properties(not at the same time) Several years ago medical and financial problems forced the sale of all but a few properties. Didn't make much profit . Was actually buying rentals for retirement as I was an over the road driver for most of life; mostly for my self. In 2009 had heart attack and had to stop driving. 2010 wife had cancer and that was a couple of years taking care of. Have started buying some rentals and a couple of resales last couple of years with the help of a couple of very good bankers. Rental business is extremely hard to make a profit at.I am in my late 60's but still feel half that and do all my own work on properties
