I was a General Contractor from 2003 - 2012 and had a lucrative business building both "spec" and customer luxury homes in Georgia and Florida. In 2013, The market was slow, so my wife and I thought it would be "romantic" to own and operate a small raw milk dairy farm. With no experience and after much, much, much hard work of 16 hour days, 7 days a week for 5 years, the romanticism wore off. Even though we grew to be the second largest raw milk producer in Florida (Jersey Acres Farm), We finally came to our senses, along with empty pockets, and I got back into construction. I partnered with an old friend that I actually helped get into the business back in 2004. We created Pinnacle Homes, Inc here in Tampa and have been building homes for the last couple of years. I came to the realization that I needed to pursue an investment strategy that had both cash flow and asset appreciation. My partner and I are now fully invested in creating a portfolio of rental units, either through 2-4 unit buildings or 5+ unit commercial buildings. I'm diving head first into this and soaking up everything I possibly can (Which is what I'm famous for). Still not sure of the direction I need to go yet. My wife and I both hold real estate licenses and I will soon be acquiring my Brokers license to qualify Pinnacle Homes as a Real Estate Brokerage. Since I have had a lot of management experience throughout my business career, I'm also thinking of starting a property management company to not only manage my own properties, but others as well. Being on Bigger Pockets has been a tremendous asset in my learning curve. Also, I look forward to the networking for business reasons as well as just meeting like minded people that we can call friends.
