Born in Portland, graduated from University of Oregon & Harvard Law School. My first transaction was buying a condo when starting law school, after eye-popping rents in Cambridge, MA, scared me away from renting. The profits from selling that made it more possible for me to spend my young career building nonprofits. After being away from real estate, it became clear that I need to prepare for retirement and have re-engaged. (Nonprofit startups, even when successful, yield no stock options.) I have put together a handful of deals of varying complexity — varying from helping acquire the building for a small college, acquiring multi-family residences, a few SFRs, and a multi-parcel collaboration for a long-term ground lease. Real Estate Goals: 1) Near term: a) Engage in ethical property strategies with people from whom I can learn. b) Build sufficient income for a comfortable and adventurous life while spending much of my time do-gooding. c) Connect with good and smart people from whom I can learn. 2) Intermediate term: Working on a thesis for potential larger-scale investment. I want to work with friends (new and old) to hone and scale such a strategy. 3) Long term: Help my community generally. Specifically, donate seven-figures to impact charities and support democracy. Currently Seeking: Cash-flowing Deals in Indianapolis. Network in Reno, NV & Huntsville, AL Advice for the best financial & contractual structures for group investing. Dream scenario is connencting with a community of do-gooder investors who are interested in triple-bottom-line projects.
