I am a Mississippi native and emergency medicine physician. I work at a large academic medical center and find my work very fulfilling. My family includes my wife Rachel, son Gunner, dog Lucy, and we are expecting our second child in Spring 2024. I enjoy tasting and collecting nice wines and spending time traveling with with my wife and family. Looking to us this platform to diversify my portfolio and create additional sources of equity and income for the long horizon. Other than being a homeowner, I really have no real estate experience. Because I am still fairly early in my career (age 37, 8 years out of residency training) and love what I do, I don't really need a "second job" actively managing rental properties or flipping houses. I am looking for more passive investment opportunities through syndications as a limited partner, for example. My 3-5 year plan would be to hopefully secure a short term rental property either in the Gulf Coast area or in the mountains (we like to vacation in the Blue Ridge, GA area or western North Carolina area) that can serve as a potential vacations spot for my family but also generate some passive income. I am hoping to connect with others who are either in a similar stage of life, or whose investment goals align with mine, or those who have had success in passive real estate investment while maintaining their 9-5.
