I'm a former Registered Representative. For years I sold mutual funds and 401k plans for the nation’s largest provider of Retirement Plans. In 2002 I left the traditional world of financial services and consulting with clients on mutual funds and annuities, to pursue a career in real estate. I surrendered my securities license and narrowed my focus, building a real estate investment firm. I bought my first real estate course in December of 2002- a Jim Banks Probate Course. My first transaction in the business as a full time investor was to locate, evaluate, and purchase 70 properties as keeper rentals in March 2003. From that initial transaction I grew to 20 full time employees. We offered property management, hard money lending, a mortgage company, property rehab, a real estate agency, and real estate education all under one roof. From 2003 to 2009 we bought and sold over 400 properties, traveled the country teaching and speaking on real estate investing, and served as President of the Mississippi Real Estate Investors Association Real Estate. In 2009 I lost everything. I went from over 100 rentals to losing my personal home. I've seen the good times and the bad times. This remains the best business in America.
