John Kelley

I have served as a Firefighter/EMT, Engineer and Captain for more than 20 years and plan to transition into full-time real estate investor this year, 2012. Since 2003, I have held multiple union officer positions in the Bullhead City Professional Fire Fighters union and served as the President from 2009 to 2010. During my time as President, I was able to negotiate and implement the first labor/management contract in my department. I then stepped down as President in order to focus on the real estate opportunities that have presented themselves in the hard-hit housing market. For nearly a decade, I was also the Owner and Operator of a computer/networking business that I started in 2001. Initially, after launching the business with just myself and a partner, I quickly expanded our customer base from just serving the local businesses to signing contracts with a dental company that had dozens of offices in multiple states. At the peak of the business, I had five employees and conducted business in three different states. In 2010, like so many other small businesses in America, the business was hit by hard economic times and I decided to close its doors. I also served four years in the United States Marine Corps. My initial training was obtained in Camp Pendleton CA. and I was then assigned a permanent station in Kaneohe, Hawaii. While there, I tested for, and joined a Special Forces unit. I gained a vast knowledge of the Asian culture as I was deployed throughout the Pacific Islands. I also received special training that included: Army Airborne jump school, scuba diving school and anti-terrorist training. At the end of my four year stint, I was honorably discharged as a non-commissioned officer. I have been buying, leasing, selling, renting, and rehabbing real estate since 1988. I was mentored from a young age by my father, who was also a real estate investor. Other real estate mentors have guided me throughout my life in business and investing choices, including Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad Poor Dad and Patrick Riddle from Private Money Blueprint. I am currently completing a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership at Columbia Southern University.
