Prior Service. Spent 5 years in the Navy. Reluctantly started my journey with wholesaling in 2018 while transitioning out of the military. I did not want to be a wholesaler but it got my foot in the door and taught me to work with sellers and other investors as well as analyze deals and estimate construction cost. While separating from the Navy I spent the last 6 months of service and next 2 months of being a civilian finding a multi to house hack with my VA loan. The search was hard as this market (Philadelphia, PA) is competitive but I landed a triplex needing minimal work and made money at the closing table. This was a great start for me and have since acquired 3 more properties totaling 10 doors. One was another house hack and the others were non-owner occ. investments using the brrr strategy.
