I was Born in a Rocking Chair in Eddyville, Oregon and raised in Jackson, Mississippi and Raleigh, North Carolina. I worked as a carpenter building homes in North Carolina in 1997. I moved on to becoming an electrician in 2002 and continued constructing custom homes and eventually moved into commercial construction. In 2006 I moved to San Jose, CA to further my career as an electrician and eventually specialized in the electrical construction of Data centers and Data center management. When I moved to California I was naive to the power of real estate and even though my colleagues and friends were taking advantage of ARM loans, and loose lending requirements I stood on the sidelines in 2005, 2006, and 2007 and watched as they spent tons of money. Some took their families on vacations and bought new cars and boats from their re-financed homes in Livermore, CA, Tracy, CA, and Mountain House, CA. I watched in awe and frustration because I didn't know how or was to scared to jump into the Real Estate Market. However in 2008 fear was solidified and my awe and frustration was washed away just like the fortunes of many in the real estate industry. There was no way I was ever going anywhere near real estate after that debacle. Fast forward 8 years and a very close friend of mine was starting to get into fixing and flipping properties. I warned him "no, no, no", "don't do that, you're going to lose everything". He didn't listen, so I watched him build a portfolio of homes and I listened skeptically as he explained strategy's and systems to protect his investments. Finally I asked him to please allow me to help in any way I can so I can learn more about Real Estate Investing from him and maybe one day be a Real Estate Investor. I worked with him on his last three fix and flip properties on the construction side while I developed my own criteria to find the best deals for me. And now here I am, a penny in BiggerPockets, looking to become a $100 in my BiggerWallet. Either one of us can bring the deal, we analyze it through a set of criteria. If we come to the conclusion it's a profitable venture you handle the financing, down payment, and rehab costs. I'll take care of managing the rehab, finding the contractors, making sure we get materials within or below budget, finding real estate agents, etc., and make sure we meet our schedule for a profitable flip.
