Jonathan Trogdon

I work at the operational level of behavioral health and substance use treatment, with experience across detoxification, residential treatment, and sober living programs throughout Southern California. My background spans overnight operations, behavioral health supervision, shift leadership, and client services management. I hold RADT, CBHT, BLS/CPR, and First Aid credentials, along with advanced experience using KIPU for clinical and operational documentation. My expertise centers on the operational realities of treatment: admissions and intake procedures, staffing and shift accountability, client safety, overnight monitoring, documentation standards, and the systems that support continuity of care. One area I understand particularly well is what happens between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.—when staffing is leaner, oversight is limited, and operational weaknesses often become most apparent. I also provide an operations-focused perspective to individuals exploring the development of treatment facilities, sober living residences, and transitional housing programs. Before committing to a property or opening a facility, understanding staffing requirements, operational infrastructure, documentation practices, and day-to-day service delivery is essential. My perspective is grounded in direct operational experience: understanding not only how treatment programs are designed to function, but how they actually function. I’m here to contribute practical insight and answer questions about behavioral health operations, facility readiness, and the realities of running treatment programs.
