Jordan Calaway

I am seasoned veteran of the movie industry and have spent the better part of my 16 year career bringing to life people's dreams for the silver screen. I manage the construction side of film and television, adhering to large budgets with very short time constraints, critical problem solving and cohesively leading people towards a mutual goal. In my off time, I am a novice drummer constantly trying to reach the next level of so-so ultimately hoping to arrive at pretty good. I have a passion for building and drumming, I dream some day of forging the two and building my own drum kit. I am inspired by the arts and am always exploring new approaches to problems. I can finally tell people I enjoy reading after 30 years of wishing I loved reading. I have taken a lot of action to love reading, and part of that action is continuing to read. I am currently pursuing a goal of reading 1 non fiction book a week and one fiction book every 2 weeks. I am a advocate of pets, they have owned me my whole life. I currently belong to two cats and two dogs and they grace us humans to sleep in their king size bed! Experience: At 26, I bought my first primary residency with a 5 year fixed arm loan. At the time I had looked at over 80 properties in my area and the one I settled on was the best deal near me. In 2008, my house was worth less than half of what I paid and I realized it may no longer be a good investment. I was fortunate in the sense, I didn't buy a house I couldn't afford, like many people did because of the creative financing that existed at the time. I did and still believe I bought the best deal on the market, it was MY own conditions I brought to the table when buying it weren't very good. I decided to cut my losses and short sold the property before loosing more money and before the forgiveness act ended. This was an invaluable experience learning things I only could have by going through that experience. My only regret is I still haven't bought anything since for various reasons. Real Estate Goals: Besides the common answers of wealth, independence etc. etc., I am looking to transition out of my current career in the near future. My job is extremely fast paced and extremely stressful and as much as I enjoy and love what I do, physically i am being destroyed by it. I guess I can say I have but a minor glimpse into what the U.S. president must through in a 4 year term. I know understand how a president can look so much older in just 4 years. I am looking forward to a new career that is slightly slower paced, slightly less stressful, probably much more work and hopefully a little more financially beneficial long term. Currently I want to buy and hold multi unit properties. Currently Seeking: Seeking like minded professionals to brain storm, be accountable and share energy as we grow on this path. Looking for ideas and information on markets. I am not convinced Los Angeles/California will meet my criteria.
