I got licensed as a real estate agent in Florida, May 2021, after having had my license in New York. I moved to the Orlando area at the beginning of the pandemic and as soon as possible, got started. Not having a built-in sphere with friendly faces in my area to help me get my feet wet, was scary for sure. But it allowed me to work with what I had and I've learned a very lot in a very little amount of time. Most of my experience so far has come through investment properties of some sort (rehabs, LTR, vacant lots). They have included sticky situations with non-paying tenants, negotiating both sides, seller tax cert debacle, meeting an investor at 6am on a dark rainy December morning bc it was the only time that worked, etc Everyone else I work with spends their time finding beautiful, expensive homes to compete to list and I have had that opportunity (commission was nice), but whether I subconsciously look for challenging opportunities or they just come to me, I have been bitten by the investor bug. I love research and numbers. I love feeling useful. I love helping people. I work with investors; I want to be an investor.
