I'm a buy and hold Investor of commercial real estate and single family homes in North Carolina. I also a created a property management company: Direct Property Rental, that manages my rental units. I became interested in owning rental property through my father. He bought his first single family rental when I was a young teen, and I watched him rehab his older rental homes from the early to mid 1900s. He would tell me stories of his interactions with tenants and applicants, and it all seemed interesting to me. My father encouraged me to purchase my first home at age 21. He also introduced me to house hacking and I was able to find two roommates who together paid over 80% of my mortgage. I held that home in my rental portfolio for 10 years before selling it, and now focus on single family rentals and commercial real estate that is local to me in North Carolina. My goal with each interaction is to have a win-win experience for all parties involved.
