Hello! My husband and I are a 25 year old couple, who recently moved to Jacksonville Beach, Fl from the Metro Atlanta area. Real estate is something that we have talked about for probably 6 years, but we got really serious about it earlier in 2017. When we first moved to Jax Beach, we lived in a short term rental in a multi-family building (8 units), we also met a flipper on our first day here. During this time, we started evaluating the building we were living in and day dreaming about connecting two of the units and living there, at the time, we had no idea we were talking about house hacking! We moved to a more permanent rental and in July, we went to a national sales convention where my husband heard all of these men talking about being able to spend time with their kids and not having to work a 9-5. My husband came home and realized this is what he wanted for us and decided we were going to get serious about real estate investing. During a google search, he found bigger pockets and we became obsessed with the podcast. We found the community and have already learned so much, but we are excited to see where this adventure will take us! Experience: We have a property in Metro Atlanta and after 3 years of sitting vacant, we rehabbed it this past summer and finally have a tenant in there. In July of 2017, we decided that we wanted to get serious about real estate. We set a goal to buy a property by the end of the year. We closed on our first property here in Jacksonville in Dec 2017. We need to make a couple of fixes and then we will be ready to find a tenant! Real Estate Goals: Our goals for 2018 would be to get 2-3 more properties. Ideally, we would love to find a duplex or small multi-family at the beach and house hack. We are currently renting a small house at the beach and love the area, so we would love to stay out here. We would also like to add another SFH to our portfolio. Our ultimate goal would be to have enough cash flow to meet my husband's current salary so he can leave his corporate job by the time he is 29 (3.5 years). After he leaves his job, we would like to do at least one flip.
