I am a banker by trade but started my own real estate brokerage ten years ago. I am a licensed real estate broker as well as an investor. I am a full time real estate investor. I still take listings via referrals but do not actively go after buyers and sellers as a broker. Mainly, I use my license to list and sell my own properties which is actually something I've been reconsidering. When I look back on my last three deals, I feel I would have been better hiring a seasoned full time agent from the area to list and sell my properties for me. Although I am able to increase my profit margin by a few percent by listing my properties myself, I've realized I am proabably losing more than I am gaining by trying to wear too many hats.
