I'm originally from Louisiana, but I've lived in Colorado Springs for 10 years now. I survived 2008 and the aftermath with our first home intact (but a lot of credit card debt!). This provided the motivation to Never Rely on Employment for Income EVER AGAIN, ASAP! My husband and moved into a tiny apartment in 2011 and rented our condo to save for our first 4plex. We house-hacked our first 4plex starting in 2013. We purchased our second 4plex (also house hack) in 2015 and are currently under contract for 4plex number 3 and getting 4plex #1 ready for 1031 exchange is the next step. We will ride the wave of crazy real estate in Colorado to expand our buisiness to the point of full self-employment with a budget for health insurance. My husband and I love rock climbing and like to travel the world in search of the best places to climb. This is our goal for early retirement. We would like to quit our 40 hour a week jobs within 3 years.
