Growing up in the Bay Area I saw that real estate could be a good way to build wealth. So when I first started working I saved my money to buy a condo. Kept it as a rental when I moved to Oregon for work, and bought another property here. I enjoy how being a real estate investor involves a variety of skills: people relationships, finance, fixing things up, etc. And the cash flow and appreciate are a nice foundation for when I retire.
