In 1989 I found myself a single divorced father of two small girls ages 2 and 5. I had no skills to speak of and took whatever jobs I could find. A few years prior I had purchased a large run down single family house that I purchased for 25k. After becoming a single parent I converted the upstairs to a apartment and found a woman that would watch my girls during the day while I was at work. Five years later I remarried to a woman that had two kids of her own and we became the "Brady Bunch". Many of my new wife's relatives had rental properties all grouped together (you know, like the old Italian neighborhoods) and slowly I purchased their properties one by one. After the third property I decided that if I was going to do this I should get educated and fully pursue it but keep my day job. The manufacturing company I work for has promoted me from a general laborer through the tool & die trade on to tooling Engineer. I have been with the company 30 plus years. In my spare time I like making wine (killer blackberry port), riding my Italian motorcycle, watching UFC, travel, and hanging with my friends with a cigar. I like to think of myself as a guy who not only started with nothing but more like started under water and hope to encourage others. Experience: I am a primarily a buy and hold investor. I have purchased from relatives, foreclosures, tax auctions,and short sales. I have never sold a property. Even my previous home is now a rental. Real Estate Goals: Ready for new adventures. Currently Seeking: I am trying to decide whether to purchase a 50-100 unit to work on after retirement or just lay on the beach for a while.
