Luke Saglimbeni

My name is Luke Saglimbeni, I am an accountant by trade and an investor/entrepreneur by passion. After graduating from Bryant University in 2009, the worst year in The Great Recession, I discovered that working (or finding work) for someone else was not the path I wanted to pursue. Within the past decade, I have managed to obtain a Master’s degree in accounting, while simultaneously working three odd jobs to cover bills. I needed to work very hard to survive. I started my tax practice in 2012 the same year I became an investment accountant at SS&C Technologies. A few years later, I landed an investment accounting position at the State of CT Treasury Department working with the Pension Fund Division. This opportunity allows me to take care of my immediate and long term family needs, while giving me the time to educate myself in all investment vehicles available. I have utilized the stock market, to grow my savings, which enabled me to purchase several of the properties I have acquired: both residences and rentals. I have the emphatic urge to gain all types of knowledge, especially in real estate; by use of books, podcasts, webinars, social media, social networking websites, and real estate investor meet-ups. It is in my blood, since birth. As our team mentor is my father, who has been in this industry for decades, and has survived and strived in all sorts of unique economic cycles and economies. I will continue to follow in his footsteps and learn from him, to continue to grow in all aspects of life, and to be the best man I can be. As of late, I really enjoy networking and communicating with other individuals who come from different walks of life, but with the same end goal of financial freedom. Speaking of goals, I have set out on a journey toward financial freedom. In order to accomplish this, I have set incremental goals to strive toward which is meant to keep me on the correct path. In one year, I would like to obtain one flip or add one rental unit to our partnership. Within three years, I would like to flip one property AND add at least two rental units to our partnership. Within five years, I would like to obtain level one financial freedom. According to Brandon Turner on Bigger Pockets, “This means our passive income covers all of our personal expenses.” I would like our partnership to own at least one quality apartment complex where the monthly cash flow is over $100 per unit. How to achieve the goals presented. I will reveal my individual strengths and what I can bring to the partnership. By nature, I am an analytical thinker, with a strong background in analyzing numbers and real estate deals. I am an accountant, bookkeeper, tax preparer and planner, as well as an investor and entrepreneur. I am an honest person who acts ethically in everything I do. I hold myself to a high standard of accountability. I will always give my best even when others are not. I am hard-working and like to think I possess a wealth of real estate related knowledge that I inherited from my role model and mentor. My skill set will allow me to assist in finding deals and analyzing them. I will be able to take care of the bookkeeping, accounting, and tax related work. I will assist in managing the property, the vendors, the contractor, and anyone or anything that needs to be managed. Failure is not an option. I will assist in being the liaison to all parties encountered including several mentors with decade’s worth of experience in numerous niches of real estate. Lastly, I once heard a quote that went something like this, “In order to lead, you must serve.” I will contribute to the partnership in any way I can. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty to assist in adding sweat equity to the property. I will do anything and everything (legal and of the utmost integrity) to succeed. After reading Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki I was extremely motivated to achieve financial freedom. To be able to live the life I want, to do what I want, when I want. To be there for my family and ensure they are well taken care of financially, not only for their lifetimes, but their great-great grandchildren’s lifetimes. But even more importantly, my love of others and God, who blessed me with my skills and gifts, propels me to want to give back to others. I want to educate them, help them achieve their goals, which will then allow them to spend unlimited time with their loved ones though financial freedom. I am always driven to help others. I strive to be a leader, people want to follow, and I want to make everyone around me better, like Mike. I want to be a part of something greater than myself. To build a quality trustworthy team of highly ethical individuals that will put the well being of others before themselves, and to do the right thing before profits. I will be there for the team and be a part of the greater good to give back to the community that has given to me. One of my life long missions is to make the places we live in a better place and to provide a safer environment for future generations to live in and grow in so they in turn can return the favor to the future generations after them.
