I have been in the rat race for over 30 years and it's time for a change. I work in the IT field and the long days in the office and long commutes are getting old. I have always been handy and have always done my own projects. I've been a team leader for a habitat for humanity rehab build to gain more experience a few years back. I own 2 villas in Clermont Florida and one in Baltimore city that I am currently renovating. The one villa in Clermont is a 5/4 where I rent the rooms individually to workers that work at DisneyWorld. Since we travel to Disney many times a year we purchased a short term rental in the same neighborhood that we market to folks that want to stay in a villa when they travel to Disney. One works at Disneyworld and my youngest daughter is autistic and she lives at home. Experience: I inherited my mothers house in Baltimore and it needs some work before it can be rented. I finally got my wife to buy 2 houses in Florida. We purchased a turnkey property that my daughter lives in and we rent the rooms to her co workers. In April of 2017 we purchased a vacation rental that is 10 miles from Disney World in a very nice quiet community. You could say I have been preparing myself for years to be involved in real estate. I am quite handy and there isn't too much I can't do on my own. Since joining bigger pockets I've been listening the podcasts daily on my long commutes and learning a lot. I have listened to all of the podcasts from the beginning. Real Estate Goals: I want to be a snowbird where I live in the mid atlantic in the summers and Florida in the winters. I want to accumilate enough real estate to satisfy my freedom number and to leave something for my daughters. Currently Seeking: I want to learn how other investors are accumulating so many properties. I want to learn about the money options for real estate purchases. I want to accumulate properties around WDW for short term rentals.
