Like many real estate professionals, my journey began with someone handing me a copy of Rich Dad, Poor Dad. That book sparked an obsession with personal finance, which eventually led me to become a real estate agent. However, it quickly became clear that investing in real estate was far more profitable than simply selling it. In 2014, we purchased our first duplex on Park Ave, marking the beginning of our investment journey. Shortly after, we completed our first "live-in flip," using the proceeds to upgrade our personal housing while building equity. By 2018, I decided to leave my full-time role at a local media company to focus on real estate investing full time. Since then, I’ve developed a specialization in finding off-market opportunities and adding value to properties through renovations, better management, and strategic repositioning. My wife and I operate Honeyford Real Estate LLC, a small family brokerage in Rochester, NY, targeting affluent Spanish-speaking clients. We’ve built a portfolio of premium properties and commercial investments, focusing on cash flow, equity creation, and long-term sustainability. As of today, we’re proud to say we’ve built a strong balance sheet and reliable cash flow that supports our family. We are intentional about maintaining a manageable portfolio with no deferred maintenance while pursuing properties that align with our clear investment strategy. Currently Seeking: Commercial Properties: Warehouse, light industrial, and mobile home parks, preferably with smaller tenants or the potential to divide larger spaces to maximize rental income. Our strategy focuses on acquiring underperforming assets, forcing appreciation through improvements, and repositioning properties for sale or refinance. The goal is to reinvest equity into passive income streams and more liquid investments while continuing to grow our real estate business sustainably.
