Founder & CEO of Real Books| Bookkeeping for Real Estate Investors Money has always been a passion of mine! I opened my first investment account in 5th grade and listened to finance talk radio shows growing up (pre-podcast era). I’ve also been blessed to have many friends & mentors in my life who own & operate small businesses. During my time in public accounting, I gravitated towards clients who were real estate investors. This experience allowed me to learn from the accounting and proactive tax planning done for these clients doing it at the highest levels. I simultaneously began my own investing journey by renting out extra bedrooms in my home in Nashville, also known as “house hacking.” After working with many real estate investors and small business owners, I decided to become one myself, full-time. This lead to the launch of Real Books to provide accounting services and Stoneybrook Capital to further my real estate portfolio. I learned that the most profitable investors recognize that outsourcing their accounting function is far more efficient & smart than trying to do it themselves; a mistake that if ignored or done incorrectly can end up costing you higher CPA bills, higher tax bills, and potentially the loss of your liability protection. These pros are busy closing deals or enjoying the freedom they have created for themselves and leave the accounting work to their CPA. In my spare time I coach lacrosse at Frederick Douglas High School and the Commonwealth Kings Club in Lexington, KY. I’m excited to have the opportunity to help real estate investors build sustainable wealth through proper bookkeeping and tax planning. Cheers!
