I've been buying and holding off and on since the mid 90s. Took some time off to raise kids but now I'm back at it! Retiring from 30 years of teaching in June, which will bring me down to 1 full time job of flipping and airbnb hosting. As I said I'm a teacher (music teacher specifically) but I also am a contractor. My wife and I work as a team with our two teenage boys. My wife is a licensed contractor and nationally certified remodeler. She and my hard working boys are my secret weapon! We purchase value add homes and work on them as a family. We'll use our rental income to replace our working income as well as to help our boys through college. I've got a merry band of investors meeting up in Ypsilanti MI and we're always happy to have more. We meet about once per month, loosely scheduled.
