Melissa Tannehill

Melissa A. Tannehill is the founding owner of Tannehill Law, LLC. Melissa represents Buyers, Sellers, and Investors from beginning to end and throughout the real estate transaction process. Prior to starting her own firm, Melissa gained extensive knowledge in real estate by working in mortgage banking for over 14 years. Melissa previously worked for two large financial institutions, JPMorgan Chase and Morgan Stanley, working with high net worth clients and their families to provide guidance on their banking, mortgage, and lending needs. Melissa’s banking experience has provided her thorough knowledge of the mortgage process and the importance it plays in real estate transactions. Melissa gained litigation experience as a consumer litigation attorney representing clients in both State and Federal Court along with AAA Arbitration, protecting consumers against lenders under national consumer protection laws. Melissa is federally admitted in five jurisdictions and has practiced nationwide. In addition to practicing law, Melissa also invests in real estate, buying and holding investment properties in Chicago, Illinois. With experience as a real estate investor, Melissa understands the various aspects that investors experience and is better equipped to provide personal and professional guidance to her clients. Melissa serves on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Professional Women’s Club of Chicago.
