I have recently had an opportunity to meet with someone who owns over 1000 properties. He grew up with 8 siblings in a 800sqft apartment, dirt poor. He told me "if i could do it, anyone can, including you, so unless there is a reason why you can't do it, don't tell me you can't do it. " Those words were so inspiring to me, I've recently updated my future goals. I don't want to own 1000 properties like him, but i do want to have a life where i have absolutely 0 concern over money. When i go on vacation, i want to stay at great hotel with good access to everything as opposed to trying to find a cheap hotel miles away. I want to let my daughter do whatever she wants (if she wants to play soccer, sure why not. if she wants to learn musical instruments, sure why not?). NY is very expensive. just putting my daughter in a day care would cost me like $2000 per month. I currently cannot afford that. I'm sure playing sports and learning musical instruments cost just as much. I don't intend on living in NY forever, but i want to have an option to live in expensive city and still not have to worry about money. so here is my very aggressive, but achievable goal. I am currently at 9 properties (12 doors). i am planning to flip 2 of SFH, which puts me at 7 properties, 10 doors at the moment. My goals: 9/30/20 - 20 properties, grossing $8k income per month. 9/30/24 - gross annual cashflow of $200k. Approximately 45 properties required. 9/30/29 - Retire. Gross annual cashflow of $1m. Over 200 properties needed. very aggressive goal but i will achieve it. In order to achieve these goals, i look for very distressed properties and attempt to do BRRRR. I currently invest in Fort Wayne IN. If you are a wholeseller or have leads to off market deals in the area, please feel free to reach out to me. Due to my work restrictions, I am only focusing on one region at the moment, but intend on expanding to other markets. Detroit is on top of my list of interesting market.
