I was born & raised in the suburbs of Detroit. I lived in Fort Myers, Florida from 2012 - 2017 now back in Metro Detroit and investing in Macomb County. A little background about me... I started trading stocks in 2012 when Colorado legalized Marijuana. I jumped head first into penny stocks and blew up my account on my first trade. I took a break, delivered pizzas for a few months, then started learning more about trading. I spent the next few years working full time and trading on the side with a goal of becoming a full time trader. My focus was entirely on stocks, mostly priced under $10. In 2016, it got to the point where I started to seriously grow my account and working a job was interfering with my trades. In summer 2016, I decided to place a bet that Trump would become President after seeing the turnout at one of his events in SW FL. In November, I had won a respectable amount of money for a 23 y/o kid and had the option to withdraw that money with a check or in Bitcoin. Seeing that the check would take 4-6 weeks to arrive, I took out all my winnings in Bitcoin. In early 2017, I decided to quit my job and move back home to Michigan to lower my cost of living and give trading full time a real shot. I had saved up some money, seen some success with trading, and figured I didn't have much to lose. Come summer of 2017, I decided to shift my attention from equities over to Crypto. Summer was usually a slow time for trading stocks and since I was full time, I would always get bored on the weekends. Crypto was a 24/7, emerging market, and there was a lot of opportunity for the active traders. I felt I had an edge because of the experience I had trading stocks. I decided to launch a free Facebook community called Crypto Traders, which quickly grew to over 50,000 members around the world. I partnered up with an early adopter of the tech whom complimented my experience with the charts. To this day, my partner and I have traveled around the world hosting and speaking at events, working towards Cryptocurrency adoption and helping people become better investors/traders. In 2018, Cryptocurrency market saw a major correction and I decided to start diversifying into Real Estate. I had become successful trading, but my portfolio was heavily in Crypto and I didn't like all that exposure. In August 2018, I bought a SFH BRRRR deal that I found on the MLS. I invested $20k into it and was able to pull out $38,500 in equity within 3 months of rehab. A week after I closed on that first SFR, I bought a Duplex. I now use a hybrid strategy of both short term and long term rentals. Since then I've bought some more SFH and small Multi families. I'm still trading and working with my Crypto Traders community, but also actively working on growing my real estate portfolio. Right now I'm looking to connect with both out of state and local investors. Using a combination of private lenders and my own capital, I've been able to grow my portfolio quickly. My goal for the next 1-2 years is to purchase apartment buildings in the 5-20 unit range. I've been working solo so far, but I'm open to partnering up with someone local to Metro Detroit who has skills who compliment mine. Metro Detroit is the perfect market if you know where to look. I have strict parameters on where I'll go because there's a lot of patches in the city that are bad. I only invest in areas with a growing economy, positive city development, and a strong working class. Feel free to connect with me on here.
