I live in the nation's capital with my spouse. I work in the history field and since I love history, I love my job. I am fascinated with my neighborhood's history and I love to share the history love with others. I also have librarian superpowers, which I use to research things, like real estate. I think I have good real estate mojo, but that remains to be seen & tested. Experience: I own a home, that I live in which has a ton of equity. In Florida, I own a single family home, which I bought for cash. My second rental is a tiny townhome in Baltimore. With the insurance, taxes, and other 'unexpected' expenses it doesn't bring in a lot but it brings in enough, and I love the tax write-offs. Real Estate Goals: I would like to expand my real estate "empire" from two properties to maybe 5 or 6. Maybe one in Florida, one in the Carolinas or Virgina, and a few in Mid-Atlantic cities. I've renovated my personal home four times and I love the planning process, hate the moving and having everything covered in dust. I want to take this to other properties where I can provide the service a beautiful home in a place with history and energy to well screened renters. Financially, I want just enough to support working part-time or a sabbatical or other side activities. When I reach retirement, I want enough properties to supplement my pension and replace Social Security. Currently Seeking: Nothing right now. I am getting one rental ready to sell and just holding on to another. My sense is there is a hard rain going to fall and I'm just stocking up on umbrellas.
