Michael Pease

Hello! My name is Michael Pease. I got started in real estate as a senior in college at Augustana in Rock Island IL. I was unable to find adequate housing to live in and decided that was enough to justify buying a rental property which I then rented to my classmates and friends and still own 15 years later. Since I started in the real estate investing space I've been all over the map. I started my professional career our of college at Deloitte, a premier tax and accounting firm in Davenport IA. I spent time in Davenport and Chicago on tax compliance for high net worth individuals, business owners, real estate partnerships, corporations, REITS, and everything in between. From there I spent a brief moment in the banking world as an underwriter before promptly returning to Deloitte to work one on one with local developers on historic tax credit deals. While working as a CPA with Deloitte, I accumulated properties on the side and managed the entire operation while putting in normal accountant hours. This led me to the realization that I needed to make a change! I quickly learned that I wanted to be out on my own running my own operation and not working so many hours that didn't reflect into income. I created MSP Tax & Accounting in 2017 alongside A2Z Real Estate Management to allow for a convergence of my skill sets with real estate accounting and day to day operation. Between owning real estate and starting several businesses I've really learned what the individual business owner is looking for and am well past being your normal every day fill in the box accountant.
