Just getting started in Real Estate. I'd consider myself to be in the "sponge phase" just trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can and apply it to the real world and learn the lessons that come out of it. Experience: Have 8 years in Hospitality Management and I just bought my first duplex. Went from being a renter for 10 years to a homeowner and a landlord in one fell swoop. Taking the money saved by not having to pay rent and taking the rent earned and putting it into a fund to finance my next deal "Set for life" style. Trying to shave off as much as I can of my lifestyle so I can throw as much money as I can into my next deal. Meal prepping. Cutting expenses. Living below my means to save as much as I can. That's where I'm at right now. Real Estate Goals: 2021: Buy a 2nd duplex. Rinse and repeat. Future: Get into the business of: Storage units. Car Washes. Laundromats. Air B&B's Possibly hotels in the future. We shall see! I have always thought that those first 3 styles of businesses are easy enough to run with not a lot of overhead. Goals: Be able to develop multi family apartments that are LEED certified like the Sage on Jackson in Milwaukee. That building is sexy. Have land and build some trendy air B&B's on them. They have shipping container style air B&B's that rent out for like 400 dollars a night if you do it right and I can apply my hotel management to that aspect of it. Build a big barn style home with an open concept kitchen living and dining room in the middle of nowhere with a walk out basement for my forever home outside of the city and have a couple of golden retrievers and raise a family.
