I am a 40 something year old wife of a cowboy and mother of two adorable children. I started my professional career in commercial lending for a national bank and learned a lot about keys to having a successful business, financial analysis and the importance of working with amazing people. For the next 7 years I served on the executive team of a small company as the Real Estate Development Officer identifying markets, acquiring land, and overseeing the development, construction and licensing of small (6,000 sf) assisted living buildings for residents with Alzheimer's in Texas. In Feb. 2015 we sold the company and it allowed me to be a full time real estate investor. Experience: I bought my first investment property in 2006 (in 2014 I owner financed it, later foreclosed on it and then sold it - learned so much from one deal). Since then I have partnered with my mom and started Renovation Wranglers. I started out thinking that I wanted to buy and hold small multifamily for the cash flow. I realized I am not passionate about being a landlord and am demotivated by routine maintenance. However through the process I learned I love finding deals, putting them together, buying, fixing, leasing up and selling after a year or two of seasoning. As a result shifted our small multifamily strategy from buy and hold to fix, stabilize and sell. By the end of 2014 we successfully rehabbed, leased up and sold all of our multifamily units. Since then our primary business has been renovating and building SFR. Additionally we have wholsaled properties, done some infill development, developed a small townhome development, built new construction homes, and BRRRR a 1890’s mixed used commercial building and redeveloped a downtown tract into a mixed use building with 20 residential lofts and 3 retail office spaces. What’s Next? With the sun setting on the flipping cycle, I am focused on what is next. We are seeking ways to turn our flipping profits into longer term cash flowing assets.
