I am brand new to real estate investing and have been simply trying to immerse myself in as much information I can to achieve my first investment. A current house-hacker in a duplex. Currently attending college and working full-time. Ideally I plan to have a portfolio started before I graduate in two to three years. Experience: I am brand new to investing. Purchased duplex 12/29/17 and live in one unit while renting the other. Real Estate Goals: Generally, I am looking for more financial freedom to live a comfortable life and help my parents in the future. Specifically, I want to own a small multi-family by summer 2018. I'm currently searching and attaining pre-approval for this goal. (Completed 12/29/17) After the year of owner-occupancy I would like to refinance and attain another owner-occupant loan to have my second property acquired by summer of 2020. Long term goal: I should graduate at the end of 2020 or 2021 and want to use my career in computer science to accelerate the growth of my portfolio to eventually achieve a passive income of $100,000 per year. My focus will be buy, fix, and hold and to expedite debt pay down and keep a balance of leverage and equity. Currently Seeking: Any and all advice and anybody willing to discuss any aspect of real estate investing.
