I am a passionate buy-and-hold investor, licensed real estate agent, real estate coach, husband, and father. I specialize in single and small multifamily rental properties and I am constantly acquiring new ones for myself and my investor clients. Experience: I currently own 20 rentals in the Rochester, MN and Oklahoma City Markets. I am currently adding 1-2 properties per month to my portfolio, and several times that for my clients. I have done massive rehabs including every aspect of the construction process: Framing, Roofing, Flooring, Plumbing, Electrical, Trim Carpentry, Paint, etc. I am very handy and can do most things myself, but prefer not to, and rarely do. My properties tend to be A to B class to avoid the issues that come with C and D class tenants. I have succeeded closing one deal where the owner carried the note for five years until I could refi with no money down, however I wouldn't say I generally rely on creative finance too much. While I have made many mistakes, I have never lost money on a deal, held a negative cashflow property, been unable to meet my commitments to close on a transaction, or failed to repay a lender. I am extremely conservative in most of my deals. Before investing in real estate I owned a car dealership and have executed countless high value negotiated transactions. I transitioned to real estate to leverage that experience and skillset against much larger transactions. Real Estate Goals: At this time my real estate portfolio has grown to a point where I am "financially free". I am actively discovering where my life goes from here, and I love real estate so much that I see no reason to stop working. After achieving financial freedom for myself, it has been tremendously gratifying to help my investment clients and coaching clients do the same, so I am seeing a lot of growth in that part of my business right now. I would love to purchase a large multifamily property, and have written offers on many. However, pricing at this time has made it very difficult for me to acquire one where the numbers make sense. I am partnering on ground-up development of two different apartment complexes at this time. So far, it has been a tremendously educational experience in how long, complicated, and fickle this process truly is. Which is to say, many months in, it has yet to result in breaking ground on anything :) Currently Seeking: I love talking about real estate and I'm always looking for networking opportunities in my market.
