Raised in a small town in Iowa, I decided to stick to the small town living while attending college. After receiving a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, I transitioned to city living by moving to Kansas City where I worked on computer systems for a commercial mortgage company. There I was able to observe some behind-the-scenes workings of commercial lending. I then had a stint for a couple years working with local, state and federal law enforcement setting up telecommunication surveillance. After that I spent 13 years in the Healthcare IT industry designing, supporting and maintaining the systems for many healthcare organizations across the US. Today I still do some work in the IT space as a consultant, but most of my time is dedicated to optimizing systems for my real estate investing endeavors. I have always had an entrepreneurial itch. For a number of years I have done deals with craigslist, public auctions, eBay and social media. As an avid DIYer, I enjoy getting my hands dirty and finding ways to generate income for myself and others in less-than-common ways. The last few years I have indulged myself in educational materials like books, blogs and podcasts that relate to entrepreneurialism and real estate. I surrounded myself with and have befriended many incredibly successful people and learned many things about what it takes to be successful in this area. Today I operate my own real estate investing and general contracting company. We are based in the Kansas City metro area, but have expanded to other areas in the midwest. We are experts in buying, selling and rehabbing single family and multi-family residential properties. We also provide property management. Our company has a competitive culture, working hard, and we are very driven and on the hunt for properties to flip or turn into rentals. We are open to visiting with others who are interested in partnering on deals. I am a licensed class 'A' general contractor, and the construction side of our company works on both our own investment properties as well as homes and buildings owned by others. Experience: I've personally grown a rental portfolio of 20 units, and I rehab houses to fuel my rental business and do renovations for other investors as well. Real Estate Goals: My goal is to bless others. I strive to gain and spread knowledge, create value for others, and reap the benefits of making the world a better place. Seriously. By being creative and keeping an open mind while creating a sizable portfolio of self-sustaining rentals, there will be more and more opportunities to help educate and bless others. I also value-add to help mitigate risk and attract quality tenants, but my primary focus is on long-term cashflow in conservatively market-appreciating areas. Currently Seeking: I'm always looking for more like-minded people to bounce ideas off of and to network with. I enjoy visiting about partnership opportunities and making them work on deals that make sense.
