I’m at the tail end of my military career that has led me to start planning my phase II. I am from North Idaho, received a degree from the University of Idaho in 2000. After much consideration I joined the Coast Guard in 2001 and have grown and learned so much during this time. In 2006/2007!when the market started to crash in Florida, we weren’t phased by keeping our home there as a rental while stationed outside the continental U.S. Fast forward to 2010/2011 when we could get renters in the house because so many home had foreclosed, had squatters. Our house along with so many others was destroyed by vandalism and robbers stealing the copper from the A/C unit. With a 4 yr old and a newborn we couldn’t keep our heads above water paying for childcare and two homes. Everyone said we were doing everything right, the market will correct. We heard that for years and no relief in sight, we made the tough decision to shortsale the house. That situation destroyed all our confidence in the real estate market. We bought super low end, renovated to neighborhood, and lost it all and years of covering the difference to make the mortgage payment. The I heard about this amazing group of people that has restarted my love for real estate investing. So here I am!!
