I live in a small 'bedroom' community (approximately 9,000 people) that is equidistant from three larger cities, Leavenworth (as in military base), Lawrence (Go KU!), and Kansas City, Kansas (not to be confused with Kansas City, MO). It's one of those everyone knows everyone kind of towns. Nearly everyone here drives elsewhere for work and likes it that way. We have one elementary school, middle school, high school, one grocery store, and one zip code for the entire town! I have raised six children, and two grandchildren, and, now, effortlessly, spoil 14 grandchildren. I operate a small online store. Experience: I currently own 1 home that we are in the process of rehabbing. Real Estate Goals: My goal here is to learn more about all aspects of investing. I would like to own transitional housing for wounded veterans and a few properties to help domestic violence survivors get back on their feet and start a new life for themselves in safe, clean, affordable housing conditions. Currently Seeking: I would greatly appreciate teaming up with a local mentor or partner, to help me learn how to achieve my goals. And I don't mind doing grunt work in return.
