Petur Karlsson

My name's Pétur, Icelandic for Peter. I live in Pennsylvania with my wife who is a nurse anesthetist. I'm a stay at home dad to a 4 year old and 10 month old girls and I'm a real estate investor. I've been heavily investing in stocks since 2018, learned about leveraging home equity with the purchase of solar panels in 2019, bought my first BRRRR investment property in early 2020, got a triplex with inherited tenants in April 2021 and a semi-BRRRR value add duplex in August 2021 (HELOC instead of cash out refi) and recently completed and stabilized my first long distance BRRRR in Pittsburgh. In total, that makes 7 units in 4 buildings. Besides, BRRRR and small multifamily, I’m also interested in short term rentals and looking to explore various markets for my first Airbnb. We’ve been renting out a luxury camper van since September 2020 and it has us itching to get into the vacation rental space! Real estate is a pathway to our dream of having financial independence and being able to live between both Iceland and the US. We also love travel and my wife’s job allows for travel nursing prospects in tandem with Airbnb house hacks (what a wild idea!).
